In October, CorpDirect Agents alerted clients that we had become aware of scams where forms were being sent to the principals of registered business entities that appeared to be official state forms regarding corporate compliance requirements or annual reports being delinquent, but in fact, were not.

The Florida Attorney General has issued an Investigation Alert providing notice that "Florida Corporate Headquarters" is not associated with the Florida Secretary of State's Office and Florida Corporate Headquarters is currently under investigation by the Florida Attorney General's Office. This is one of the scams which we reported. Attorney General Charlie Crist issued the consumer alert cautioning Florida business owners against variations on a scam that involves deceptive marketing of corporate minutes services. Crist issued the advisory while announcing that his office has stopped the practice of a California business that used deceptive tactics to lure Florida corporations into buying corporate minutes documents from the company.
